It is with the heaviest hearts we announce that Dave passed away unexpectedly on January 17th, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Dave was the devoted husband of 45 years to Christine [nee Mawby], their enduring love was a source of strength and joy throughout their life together. A steadfast father whose love and guidance shaped Jennifer (Aaron), Sarah (Pawel), and Deanna (Zachary) into the people they are today. He was an endlessly proud and loving Grandpa to Josephine, Clio, Nathan, Emma and James. Predeceased by his parents Anne and Gord and brother Michael. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who will forever remember his kindness, humour, and unwavering support.
Friends will be received at the Accettone Funeral Home (384 Finley Ave., Ajax) on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6 - 9 pm and Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 12 pm until the time of Service at 2 pm with a reception to follow.

He intentionally "pocket dialed" Sarah, because in that moment he was thinking about her. He intentionally hung up, when she called back seconds later he goes "ohh did i pocket dial you? My mistake -.." and they were on the phone catching up - I realized exactly the kind of loving father Dave was. It was a master class in dadsmenship.
Ever since I've always looked up to him, looked to him for guidance, & often we were each others only solace from the ladies of the family.
He wasnt just my father-in-law, He was one of the bestfriend I've ever had.
Dave would always tell me how proud of his daughters he was, & that would always come with a story about their childhood.
It's a true testament to how proud he was of his daughters & it was also a testament to his love & devotion to be there for them.
I'm forever inspired by you Dave.
I'll make sure James is a Leaf fan in your honor.
We love you Dave. It'll never feel complete, without you here. You'll be in our hearts & memories forever.
